이진상 Jinsang Lee

Jinsang Lee won the first prize along with all the special prizes at the Concours Géza Anda in Zurich in 2009. He also won First Prizes at the Hong Kong International Piano Competition in 2008 and at the International Pianoforte Competition Cologne, Germany in 2005.

His orchestral collaboration is beyond continent: Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, WDR Radio Orchestra Cologne, and many others. And he has performed at prestigious music festivals: Busoni Festival, Lucerne Festival, Gstaad Menuhin Festival, and Ruhr Piano Festival.

He started his musical training with Daejin Kim in Korea, continued his studies with Wolfgang Manz and Julia Goldstein in Germany and with Pavel Gililov in Austria. And his passion in searching for the perfect sound has led him to the world of piano manufacturing and tuning. He learned at Steinway Austria under the guidance of master piano technician Stefan Knüpfer and moved to Steinway Hamburg.

He is a member of the Beethoven Trio Bonn and performs with them in various chamber music concerts. By 2020, the complete recording of the Beethoven Piano Trios will be released with the Beethoven Trio Bonn. He is currently a faculty member at the Korea National University of Arts.
